Rocker hose (3/16 x 8 in., herringbone)
3/16 in. by 8 in. herringbone rubber hose carrying oil up to the rocker boxes.
This is the rocker feed hose, 3/16 in. by 8 in., in the herringbone-pattern rubber that Triumph used on the oil lines running up to the rocker boxes. It shows up in the parts books under the oil tank and rocker box sections, carrying oil from the feed line up to the top end where it lubricates the rocker gear. The braided herringbone covering was the factory's way of giving a plain rubber oil line some resistance to heat and chafing where it runs close to the engine.

Catalog listings for 70-6353 run from 1966 through 1974, and the part also shows up under the numbers 5394K15 and E6353 in older references — same physical hose, different number depending on which parts book you're holding.
This is one of those pieces that hardens and cracks with age even when it looks fine sitting on the shelf, so if you're pulling the top end apart it's worth a look regardless of what brought you into the engine.
