NUT CRANK PINION 1961-ON - 3/4X20
The 3/4 x 20 nut that secures the crank pinion on the timing side, PN 70-4565.
This is the crank pinion nut, part number 70-4565, also listed under the older E4565 number. It shows up in the CRANKSHAFT AND CONNECTING RODS section of the parts book, where it secures the timing-side pinion onto the crankshaft. The catalog lists it as a 3/4 x 20 nut, in use from 1961 onward across the catalog appearances we have on file.

It's a small part but an important one - it's what keeps the pinion drawn up tight on the crank taper, and a loose or worn one here can lead to timing gear trouble down the line. If you're pulling the timing cover for any reason, it's worth checking the condition of this nut while you're in there.
Our records show this part appearing across catalog entries from 1964 through 1971, but that's just what shows up in the appearances we have, not a firm cutoff on either end. Confirm against your own crankshaft assembly before ordering.
