STATOR RING PU TRI 54-62
Stator mounting ring for pre-unit Triumph 500 and 650 alternators, 1954-1962.
This is the stator mounting ring for pre-unit Triumph alternator setups, covering the 500 and 650 twins built from 1954 through 1962. It's the ring that lets a stator seat correctly inside the alternator housing on these earlier engines, since the original Lucas stators for this period aren't something you can just buy off the shelf anymore.

The ring also shows up in older parts books under the number 70-3978, so if you're cross-checking against an early catalog and see that number instead, it's the same piece. Because the original stators are long out of production, this ring is generally paired with a modern replacement stator built to fit in its place.
We don't have a lot of extra catalog detail beyond the basic description here, so if you're not sure whether your particular pre-unit engine takes this ring, give us a call before you order and we'll sort out the fitment with you.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
