Scavenge plunger
The scavenge-side plunger from the oil pump, pulling oil back out of the crankcase to keep the sump from flooding.
This is the scavenge plunger out of the oil pump, listed in the parts books under OIL PUMP AND CONTROL PEDALS. The oil pump on these engines runs two plungers working off the same camshaft-driven pump body, one for feed and one for scavenge, and this is the scavenge side - the plunger that pulls oil back out of the crankcase and returns it to the tank instead of letting it pool at the bottom of the engine. If this plunger is worn or scored the pump loses its ability to keep the sump dry, and you'll see oil migrating into the crankcase and out the breather.

The older alias for this part is E4211, which is the legacy letter-prefix form you might find printed in an earlier parts book for the same physical piece. Our catalog record ties this to entries spanning 1963 to 1964, so if you're working outside that window it's worth double-checking against your own book before you order.
