Left main bearing (Ball- journal)
Left main ball bearing for the crankcase, supersedes older factory numbers 60-4167 and 60-7362.
70-3835 is the left-hand main bearing in the crankcase, a ball-type journal bearing that carries the crankshaft. The catalog lists it under CRANKCASE, and it's been cataloged across a run of engines from the mid to late 1960s. If your parts book still shows the older number, this same bearing was previously listed as 60-4167 and 60-7362 before the factory renumbered it to 70-3835.

This is a wear item that takes the running load on one side of the crank, so when you're rebuilding a bottom end it's worth checking closely alongside its opposite-side counterpart rather than assuming both sides are interchangeable. The catalog record doesn't spell out exact bore or width dimensions here, so measure your crankcase and crank journal before ordering to make sure you're getting the right bearing for what's actually in your case.
The alias E3835 turns up in some older documentation for the same physical part, so if you're cross-referencing an early parts book that's the number you may find instead of 70-3835.
