Rod bearings sit between the connecting rod and the crankshaft journal, and they're what actually carries the running clearance for the big end. Going .010 over means the crank has already had a journal regrind to clean up wear, so this set is meant to be fitted with a crank that's been cut to that size, not a standard-diameter journal.
