This is a timing plug for BSA A50 and A65 twins, not a Triumph part despite the number living in our Triumph-numbered catalog. It threads into the blank on the front of the right-hand crankcase and lets you locate the flywheel for setting ignition timing or checking top dead center. Catalog references tie it to the A50/A65 range from the mid-to-late 1960s.
