TAB WASHER,BSA CRANK SHAFT (T/S)
Tab washer for the BSA crankshaft, timing side, used to lock the crankshaft nut in place.
This is a tab washer that locates on the crankshaft, used with a locknut or retaining nut to keep it from working loose once torqued down. The catalog entry names it as a BSA crankshaft part, so this one comes from the BSA side of the parts books rather than a Triumph-specific bin, though the two marques shared plenty of hardware over the years. The "T/S" notation in the description points to a timing-side application.

A tab washer like this does its job by having one or more ears bent over against a flat on the shaft or a slot on the nut, so once it's set in place it physically blocks the nut from rotating back off. These are cheap insurance to have on hand since they're generally a single-use item — once you bend the tab over to lock it, it's meant to be replaced rather than reused if the joint is ever opened up again.
We don't have a lot more detail on this one in our records, so if you're matching it against an old parts book or trying to confirm it's the right locktab for your application, give us a call and we'll help sort it out before you order.
