This is the mixing chamber top for an Amal carburetor, part number 622/097 (also listed as 99-4049). It's the cap that threads onto the top of the carb body and caps off the slide and throttle assembly, keeping the works enclosed while giving the throttle cable and cutaway slide somewhere to seat.
