SOCKET 5 SPEED ONLY GBOX
Factory-style socket tool for removing and installing the high gear nut on Triumph 5-speed gearboxes.
This is the socket tool Triumph built for pulling and torquing the high gear nut on the 5-speed gearbox. It's a service tool, not a gearbox internal part - a special socket that fits over the nut so you can get a wrench or bar on it without chewing up the nut or the mainshaft threads. The catalog notes this one for 5-speed boxes only, so don't reach for it on an earlier 4-speed unit gearbox.

Also listed under 61-6125 (without the A suffix), which is the same tool. Every gearbox rebuild on a 5-speed eventually calls for getting that high gear nut off, and trying to make do with a pipe wrench or improvised socket usually ends up marking up the nut or slipping and taking skin off your knuckles. Keep it in the toolbox with your other gearbox service tools.
