Layshaft c/w high gear (20T)
Four-speed gearbox layshaft fitted with the 20-tooth high gear, Triumph part 57-3864.
This is the layshaft for the four-speed gearbox, listed in the parts book with the high gear cut at 20 teeth already fitted (c/w high gear, 20T). It lives inside the gearbox shell along with the mainshaft and the sliding/pinion gears, and it's what the gearbox layshaft gear train rides on as power moves from first through top.

The catalog shows this part number superseding the earlier 57-2093, so if your parts book or an old invoice lists 57-2093 you're looking at the same physical shaft under its older number. It also carries the legacy T3864 prefix form, which is how it would have shown up in older Triumph literature before the modern numbering took over.
Our record only ties this one appearance to a single catalog year, so before you order, check it against your gearbox internals and make sure the tooth count and layshaft configuration match what's already in the case.
