Gearbox sprocket nut
Nut that secures the gearbox final drive sprocket in the chaincase, also known as T2536 or D409AF.
This is the nut that holds the gearbox final drive sprocket onto its shaft, on the end where the primary chain picks up drive out of the gearbox. It lives in the chaincase area, and in our catalog it shows up under CHAINCASE AND CHAINS along with the sprockets and chains it works with. The older book number for this one is T2536, and it's also carried under D409AF.

Catalog appearances for this part run from 1968 to 1974. Grounding from other catalogs ties this nut to the 500cc family, described elsewhere as a gearbox sprocket nut, and one listing calls out a thin nut in a 1-1/4-24 size. If you're pulling the gearbox sprocket for a chain or sprocket swap, this is the nut you're taking off and putting back.
Given the years and figures it shows up in, it's a small, cheap-to-overlook part that's worth having on hand if the old one's worn or buggered up on removal. Call the shop if you want us to confirm it's the right one for your gearbox before you order.
