RUBBER BOOT CLUTCH CABLE
Rubber boot that covers the clutch cable adjuster at the gearbox outer cover, keeping water and grit off the cable end.
This is the rubber boot that goes over the clutch cable adjuster where it enters the gearbox outer cover. It keeps water and road grit off the cable end and the abutment threads, which matters since that's an exposed spot right at the top of the cable run into the box.

In the parts books it shows up under gearbox outer cover and inner cover figures, so it's tied to the clutch cable adjustment point rather than anywhere else on the bike. The older book listing for this same boot is T1646, and you'll also see it cross-referenced as 26-81114 - same physical part, just different numbering depending on which catalog you're holding.
It's a small, simple rubber piece, but it's one of those items that cracks and splits with age from sitting out in the weather on top of the engine. Worth checking yours if it's stiff, cracked, or missing altogether - a torn boot lets water track down into the adjuster and cable end over time.
