Kickstarter stop plate
A small stop plate inside the gearbox that limits kickstart lever travel.
The 57-1157 kickstarter stop plate is a small gearbox internal part that lives inside the inner cover, alongside the shafts and bearings. Its job is to limit the travel of the kickstart mechanism so the lever stops where it should instead of over-rotating and binding up against other internals.

You'll find it listed under the older T1157 number in earlier parts books, same physical piece just carried under the legacy prefix system before Triumph moved to the numeric-only format. Catalog listings for this one span the late 1960s.
It's not a part most people think about until the kickstart action feels off or won't return properly, at which point it's worth a look while the inner cover is already off for other gearbox work.
