Layshaft 2nd gear (26T)
The 26-tooth layshaft second gear from the Triumph gearbox, later renumbered 57-3861.
This is the layshaft second gear from the Triumph gearbox, a 26-tooth gear that lives on the layshaft inside the gearbox shell. It's one of the gear pairs that makes up second gear ratio, working alongside its mating gear on the mainshaft to pass power through when you're in second.

Our catalog carries this under 57-1065, with the older T1065 number showing up in earlier parts books for the same physical piece. It appears across a run of gearbox listings from 1960 through 1968, so it shows up in a number of parts-book entries during that stretch.
Triumph later renumbered this gear to 57-3861, so if your parts book or an old invoice shows that number, it's the same gear under current numbering. When you're pulling a gearbox apart to sort out worn or chipped teeth, it helps to check the tooth count against what's actually in your box before ordering, since gearbox internals varied over the years.
