DOWEL PIN LS WASHER
A small locating dowel pin used to hold a washer or bearing in place in Triumph gearbox and crankcase assemblies.
57-0912 is a small locating dowel that shows up in Triumph gearbox and crankcase records under the description "dowel pin LS washer." Its job is to hold a washer or bearing locating point in position so it can't rotate or walk out of place once the case halves are together. It's a small, easy-to-lose piece of hardware but the kind of thing that causes headaches on reassembly if it goes missing.

In the catalog it turns up across gearbox shafts/bearings/inner cover records as well as crankcase listings, which tells you this dowel is used in more than one spot depending on the engine and gearbox configuration involved. If you're rebuilding and pulled one of these out, it pays to note exactly where it came from before you set it down.
The older factory number for this same part was 62-0072, and the pre-1973 parts books list it as T912. If you're working from an older book or a used parts bin and see either of those numbers, it's the same dowel pin.
