NUT,5/16X26 THIN CARB ETC
A thin 5/16x26 nut used around carburetor and manifold studs where clearance is tight.
This is a thin nut, 5/16 inch by 26 threads, the kind used around carburetors and manifold studs where a full-depth nut won't fit or would foul another fastener nearby. The catalog lists it simply as a carb-area nut, and that thin profile is the tell — it's meant to snug down in a tight spot rather than take heavy torque on its own.

On the older bikes this same nut was catalogued under S1-51 and S1-52 before Triumph settled on 57-0224, and it's also shown up as 70-0470P. If your parts book or an old box of spares has one of those older numbers on it, it's the same physical nut.
We don't have much more written down on this one beyond that. It's a small, inexpensive item worth keeping a few of on hand since they're easy to lose track of in the toolbox, but confirm what stud or fitting you're putting it on before you order if you're not sure it's the right thread.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
