PN · 40-6910

This is the bottom mounting bolt for the rear suspension damper on the left-hand side, 3/8 inch British Standard Cycle thread by 1 7/8 inches long. It's the pin that secures the lower eye of the rear shock/damper unit down to its mounting point near the swinging arm.

Our catalog shows it appearing in the swinging arm, centre stand, and rear brake control sections, which tells you it lives down in that busy corner of the rear end where the shock, the stand pivot, and the brake linkage all share space. It's specific to the left side of the bike, so don't mix it up with its right-hand counterpart when you're reassembling.

Our catalog record ties this one to appearances from 1969 to 1970. Beyond that we don't have more detail on it, so check it against your bike before ordering.
