BSA Screw, plunger keeper plate (5 British Association × 5/16")
5 BA x 5/16 inch screw that secures the plunger keeper plate in the gearchange mechanism.
This is the small screw that holds the plunger keeper plate in place on the gearchange mechanism. It's a 5 BA thread, 5/16 inch long, and it shows up repeatedly in the gearbox internals figures — gear cluster, inner timing cover, and gearchange mechanism drawings all call for it.

The keeper plate it secures locates the selector plunger, part of the mechanism that holds the gearbox in the selected gear and gives the gearchange its detent feel. It's a small fastener but an important one — if it works loose or goes missing, the plunger assembly underneath it can shift or drop out, and the gearchange won't index properly.
The catalog places it across appearances from 1969 through 1972. It's cheap insurance to have one or two spares on hand if you're in the gearbox for other work, since small BA screws are easy to drop and lose in the case.
