Cylinder barrel stud (3/8" UN.F. × 7/16" UN.C. × 5 1/2")
Cylinder barrel stud, 3/8 in. UNF x 7/16 in. UNC x 5-1/2 in., for securing the barrel to the crankcase.
This is a cylinder barrel stud, one of the long studs that runs from the crankcase mouth up through the barrel to hold the cylinder down against the cases. It's threaded 3/8 in. UNF on one end and 7/16 in. UNC on the other, with an overall length of 5-1/2 in., so the two ends aren't interchangeable when you're fitting it back in.

It lives in the crankcase area per our records, doing the basic job every barrel stud does: clamping the barrel and head assembly down tight onto the crankcase mouth so the joint stays sealed under load. Because it's a stud rather than a bolt, it stays put in the case while the barrel and head nuts do the actual clamping work.
Our catalog only shows this one appearing in a single crankcase listing tied to 1969, so we can't speak to how far back or forward this exact stud carries. If you're rebuilding a top end, check thread engagement and length against what's already in your cases before you order a full set.
