BSA ROCKER SHAFT C15 B40 B50
Rocker shaft for BSA C15, B40, and B50 singles, carries the rocker arm in the cylinder head.
This is a BSA part, not a Triumph part — the catalog description names the C15, B40, and B50 models, which are BSA singles, and that's what this shaft is for. Ed's records show it under 40-0294, also listed as M40-0294, and it turns up in the CYLINDER AND CRANKSHAFT figure of the parts books.

A rocker shaft like this carries the rocker arm at the top of the cylinder head, letting it pivot as the cam pushes the pushrod up and down to open and close the valve. It's a wear item — the bore in the rocker and the shaft itself take the load every time that valve opens, so if you're in the head for anything else it's worth having a look at the fit before you button it back up.
Our catalog appearances for this one run from 1969 to 1970, but that's just what shows up in our records, not a guarantee of exact model-year fitment — check it against your own engine before ordering.
