389 CARB SLIDE #3 CHROME
Chrome #3 cutaway throttle slide for the Amal 389 Monobloc carburetor.
This is the throttle slide for the Amal 389 Monobloc carburetor, cutaway size #3, in chrome. The slide is the piece that moves up and down inside the carb body when you twist the throttle, controlling how much air gets pulled through and working together with the needle to shape the mixture off idle and through the lower half of the throttle range.

The cutaway number stamped into it (in this case #3) is a tuning spec, not just a part designation, so if you're replacing a worn slide you want to match whatever cutaway your carb was jetted with unless you're deliberately changing the mixture curve. Slides wear against the bore over time and a sloppy fit here shows up as poor idle and throttle response, so it's a common item to check when a Monobloc isn't running right.
This one also carries the older alias number 389/060-3, so if your parts book or an old invoice shows that number, it's the same physical piece listed here under 389/060-3C.
