Brake Anchor Plate Assembly

Front wheel brake anchor plate assembly that carries the shoe pivots and cam for the front drum brake.

PN · 37-3455

The 37-3455 is a brake anchor plate assembly that lives in the front wheel, carrying the fixed brake shoe pivot points and the backing for the front drum brake. It's the plate that stays stationary while the wheel and drum spin around it, holding the shoes, the pivot pins, and the operating cam in place so the whole front brake works as a unit.

This one turns up in the front wheel section of the parts books, and the catalog record ties it to appearances spanning 1969 to 1970. If you've got the older book, it may show up as W3455 - same physical part, just the earlier numbering style.

When you're pulling a front wheel apart on one of these, the anchor plate is usually the first thing you're checking for wear at the shoe pivots and cam bore before deciding whether to reuse it or replace it. Bring your old one down or give us a call if you're not sure it matches what's on your bike.
