CYLINDER BASE NUT 3/8X26 - TALL REDUCED HEX

Cylinder base nut, 3/8 x 26 TPI, tall reduced hex, for the 6T/TR6 cylinder block and head assembly.

PN · 37-0076

This is the 37-0076 cylinder base nut, a 3/8 x 26 TPI nut with a tall reduced hex, used to secure the cylinder block down onto the crankcase studs. It shows up in the parts book under the CYLINDER BLOCK AND HEAD figure for the 6T and TR6, and it's also known by the older W76 designation from before Triumph moved to the current numbering.

The reduced hex shape is there because these nuts sit close together and close to the pushrod tunnels, so a standard hex wouldn't clear. Some engines used a mix of these small-hex nuts alongside larger base nuts elsewhere on the same cylinder base, so it's worth checking your parts book or counting what's actually on the engine before ordering a full set.

We show a single catalog listing on this one, tied to the 1964 model year, so treat that as a data point rather than the whole fitment picture. If you're not sure how many of these your particular engine takes, give us a call and we'll sort it out with you.
