Bulb, warning light (99-0537)
Lucas warning light bulb (PN 281) used behind idiot lights and indicator lamps on British bike instrument and headlamp panels.
This is the small Lucas bulb that lives behind the warning lights on the instrument panel or headlamp shell - the ones that tell you the ignition is on, the oil pressure has dropped, or a turn signal is flashing. It shows up across a long run of electrical figures in the parts books, from headlamp and wiring harness assemblies to dedicated warning-light and switch panels, which tells you it's a common item used in more than one location on the same bike.

The part number 281 covers this bulb, and it's also listed under 281L and WW13082L in older references - same physical bulb, different catalog listings. It got superseded to 281L at some point in the factory numbering, so if your parts book shows one or the other, you're looking at the same item.
These are small, low-wattage bulbs and it's worth keeping a couple on hand since they're the kind of thing you don't notice is out until you need the warning it's supposed to give you. Bring in your old one or check your panel before ordering if you're not sure which socket type you need.
