ALTERNATOR STUD LONG 72-
Long alternator/stator mounting stud for the primary chaincase on Triumph unit twins.
This is the long alternator stud used on Triumph unit twins, the fastener that holds the stator plate in place inside the primary chaincase. It's a simple piece, but if you've got the wrong length in there you'll have trouble getting the chaincase to seal up right or getting the stator to sit flat against the mounting boss.

Our catalog data has this one showing up across appearances from the mid-70s into the late-70s window, tied to the chaincase and chains area as well as gearbox inner cover listings. If you're rebuilding the primary side or chasing an oil leak from the chaincase, it's worth checking the length of what's currently in there against this part before you order.
We don't have a lot of extra detail on file beyond the basic description, so if you're not sure whether your bike takes the long or short version of this stud, give us a call and we'll help you sort it out before you buy.
