Cap screw-damper tube
Allen-head cap screw, 5/16 UNF x 7/8 in., that secures the damper tube in the telescopic front fork leg.
This is the cap screw that holds the damper tube down inside the front fork leg, part number 14-1019. It shows up in the telescopic front fork parts-book figures across a long run of catalog years, which tells you it's a long-lived fitment item rather than something tied to one model.

The screw is an Allen-head fastener, 5/16 UNF thread, 7/8 inch long, and it's what keeps the damper tube seated at the bottom of the fork slider so the internal damping mechanism stays put and does its job when the fork compresses. It's a small part but an important one to get right — if it's missing or won't seat properly, the damper tube can shift and the fork won't damp the way it should.
Because this screw appears across so many catalog entries, don't assume any one head, length, or thread you find on a shelf is automatically correct for your fork leg — check it against what's actually in there before you button things back up.
