Nut, for stud line 36 (1/4" U.N.F. Nyloc)

1/4 inch U.N.F. Nyloc nut used at more than one point in the clutch/primary chaincase and oil pump/gearbox sprocket areas.

PN · 14-0901

This is a 1/4 inch U.N.F. Nyloc nut, catalog number 14-0901 (also listed as 14-901 in some parts books). It shows up in the clutch and primary chaincase area and again in the oil pump/gearbox sprocket listings, which tells you it's a general-purpose fastener used at more than one spot in that part of the engine rather than one specific unique bolt.

The Nyloc design means it has a nylon insert built into the nut that grips the threads and resists working loose from vibration, which matters a lot in the primary chaincase area where things run and rattle constantly. It's a 1/4 inch U.N.F. thread, so make sure whatever stud or bolt you're pairing it with matches that size and pitch.

Our catalog record shows this nut appearing across a run of years in the late '60s into the early '70s but doesn't tie it to one exact model, so if you're matching it to a specific stud on your bike, best to confirm the stud size before you order.
