Norton Slipper, Tensioner
Cam chain tensioner slipper for the Norton Commando engine's timing chest.
This is the tensioner slipper for the camshaft timing chain on a Norton Commando, not a Triumph part despite the number format you might see it filed under. It rides against the timing chain inside the engine and takes up slack as the chain wears, keeping cam timing consistent instead of letting the chain slap around inside the timing chest.

Catalog listings tie this one to the camshaft, timing gear, and crankshaft/connecting-rod area of the engine, which is where you'd expect a chain tensioner slipper to live. Our own record only shows it appearing once, in a 1975 listing, so we don't have a broader year range to point to beyond that.
If you're chasing chain rattle or timing chest noise on a Commando, this is one of the pieces worth checking along with the chain itself. Give the shop a call if you want us to confirm exact fitment against your engine before you order.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
