Norton Nut — camshaft pinion (½" B.S.C.)
Camshaft pinion nut (½" B.S.C.) from the gear cluster/camshaft area of the engine.
This is the nut that secures the camshaft pinion in the gear cluster at the camshaft end of the engine. It's a ½" B.S.C. sized nut, holding the timing gear pinion tight on its shaft so the gear train stays in mesh and doesn't work loose.

The catalog record for this one places it in the Gear Cluster — Camshaft figure, so it's a timing-side gear-train fastener rather than anything from the primary or gearbox. We only have this part showing up once in our records, tied to a single year, so beyond that we don't have more detail to add.
If you're pulling the timing chest apart on a job like this, it's worth having the correct nut on hand rather than reusing one that's been on and off a few times already. Call the shop and we'll confirm fitment before you order.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
